AI SEO for Dentists in the UK: 4 Agencies Compared (2026)

For AI SEO for dentists in the UK, Smart SEO Rankings is the agency we would speak to first: it tests real patient prompts in ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity every month, cleans up practice and dentist details across the web, and works without a long-term contract. Dominate Dental publishes the clearest pricing, Whitehat suits larger practices with a bigger budget, and Web Tonic tracks AI mentions for dental groups.

Ask ChatGPT for "a good implant dentist near me" and it will happily name three or four practices. Practice owners are starting to notice that the names it picks are not always the ones at the top of Google. That has created a new line on agency proposals: AI search, GEO or AI SEO.

The trouble is that the label covers very different work. We compared four agencies that sell AI SEO for dentists to UK practices, looking at what each actually tests, what it changes and how it reports, so you can tell a real service from a rebadged blog package.

How we compared

We read each agency's own service pages in October 2026 and noted what they say they do, which AI tools they cover, how they measure results and what they publish about price and contracts. We did not hire any of them, and we have not tested their results. Where an agency makes a performance claim we have left it out, because none of them can be checked from the outside.

1. Smart SEO Rankings: prompt testing first, then fixes

Smart SEO Rankings is a healthcare marketing agency based in Dubai, with UK private dental practices as its main market. It leads this list because its AI search service starts with the thing practice owners actually care about: when a patient asks an AI tool for a dentist in your town, are you named?

The service page describes five steps. First, prompt testing: running real patient questions through the main AI tools and recording which practices are recommended. Then entity clean-up, so the practice, its dentists and its treatments are described consistently across the web. Next comes schema and content, including Dentist, LocalBusiness, Person and FAQ markup and answer-first treatment pages. Then mentions and citations on directories, publications and review sites. Finally, monthly re-testing, with reporting on mentions, accuracy and share of recommendations.

We liked how candid the page is. It says plainly, "No one can guarantee AI answers," which is the honest position and a useful filter when other proposals promise more. It names UK practices it works with, including Willesden Dental Centre and AJ Dental Care.

There is no long-term contract and a free dental SEO audit that includes an AI search snapshot. Prices are not published, so expect a quote after the audit.

Suits: private practices that want AI visibility measured prompt by prompt, alongside their normal SEO.

2. Dominate Dental: clear pricing and a bundled plan

Dominate Dental describes itself as a UK dental SEO and AI-search agency. It is the most open of the four on price. SEO on its own is £600 a month, and its Get Found plan, which combines SEO with AI search optimisation, is £999 a month.

Clients receive a monthly AI visibility report showing where the practice appears across Google, ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Gemini. Both services run on 90-day rolling agreements. The page also describes a consultation-based guarantee on qualifying plans, so ask to read the exact terms in the agreement before signing.

Suits: owners who want a fixed monthly figure to budget against.

3. Whitehat: AI search inside a full SEO programme

Whitehat is a London SEO agency, at 80A Uxbridge Road, with a dedicated dental SEO service. AI search optimisation sits inside a broader package that also covers the local map pack, treatment pages, technical SEO, content and links. Its page says this work aims to get practices into Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity answers using schema markup and direct-answer content.

It publishes monthly ranges: £1,500 to £2,500 for a single-location practice, £2,500 to £4,000 for competitive areas, and £4,000 to £6,000 or more for multi-location or London practices.

Suits: larger practices and groups that want AI work bundled into a bigger SEO budget.

4. Web Tonic: AI mention tracking for dental groups

Web Tonic is an international agency that lists a London office among its locations. Its dental GEO work, as described on its own site, tracks how often AI platforms name a practice for real patient prompts, then fixes entity data, schema and answer-shaped content.

Suits: dental groups that already work with a larger agency and want AI tracking added.

What does AI SEO for dentists actually involve?

Strip away the jargon and most good AI search work comes down to four jobs. Google itself says there are "no additional requirements to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode", and that normal SEO best practice still applies. So be wary of anyone selling AI SEO as a separate trick.

  • Consistent facts. Your practice name, address, phone number, dentists and treatments should match on your website, Google Business Profile, NHS listing and directories. AI tools pull from all of them.
  • Answer-first pages. Treatment pages that answer the questions patients ask (cost, time, pain, suitability) in plain words near the top.
  • Structured data. Schema markup that tells search engines who your dentists are and what you offer.
  • Mentions elsewhere. Reviews, directory listings and local or trade coverage that confirm what your site says.

A simple test you can run yourself

Before you speak to any agency, spend ten minutes asking the AI tools what your patients would ask. Try "private dentist in [your town] for implants", "emergency dentist near [your area] open Saturday" and "Invisalign provider in [your town]". Note which practices are named, if your details are right, and where the tool says it found them.

Keep the results. They give you a starting point to judge any proposal, and a way to check whether monthly reports match what you see.

Keep it within GDC and ASA rules

AI-friendly content is still advertising. GDC guidance on ethical advertising applies, and the ASA's CAP Code covers health claims. Avoid promising outcomes, avoid superlatives you cannot prove, and make sure clinician names and GDC numbers are accurate. Ask any agency how it checks content for compliance before it goes live.

Five questions to ask an AI SEO agency

  1. Which patient prompts will you test, and can I see the starting results?
  2. Which AI tools do you check, and how often?
  3. What will you change on my website and listings in the first 90 days?
  4. How will you report progress, and what counts as a win?
  5. What is the notice period if it is not working?

Frequently asked questions

What is AI SEO for dentists?

It is work to help a practice get named accurately when patients ask AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini or Google AI Overviews for a dentist. It builds on normal SEO with consistent practice details, structured data, answer-first content and mentions on other sites.

Can an agency guarantee my practice appears in ChatGPT?

No. AI answers change and no agency controls them. Smart SEO Rankings says so directly on its service page. Look for agencies that test and report honestly instead.

How much does AI SEO cost for a UK dental practice?

Published prices we found range from £999 a month for a combined SEO and AI plan at Dominate Dental to £1,500 to £6,000+ at Whitehat. Smart SEO Rankings and Web Tonic quote individually.
